now it seems to work in a strange way:

when i set CFG_3C90X_XCVR=3
the client can't find the bootp server
when i set CFG_3C90X_XCVR=255
the client finds the bootp server and boots correctly _BUT_
when i boot a second time it can't find the bootp server anymore
then i put the floppy build with CFG_3C90X_XCVR=3 in the client and
nothing
happens again but now i can boot the client with the CFG_3C90X_XCVR=255
floppy

i think the CFG_3C90X_XCVR=3 set something in the netcard that
CFG_3C90X_XCVR=255 uses

is that fixable?
