ram disk trouble

hello,all

    I want for use ram disk.because my root filesystem is  small (4-8M). i use linuxrc script but it can't execute.
operation:
    mount -t ext2 -o loop loopdisk /mnt
    cp [necessarily file] /mnt
    emacs linuxrc
    umount /mnt
    gzip -9 loopdisk
    mv loopdisk.gz ramimage.gz
    mknbi-linux -d ram -i rom -r ramimage.gz -k bzimage -o dootimage
    the linuxrc in / directory.
    
why?
