Hi!
bootpd doesn't reply to the calls of my (first) diskless PC :(
I'm running SuSE Linux 6.1.
tcpdump is reporting the incoming requests for bootps but this damm thing
doesn't reply to them :(
I added this to initd.conf:
----
bootps dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/bootpd /etc/bootptab -c /exports
---
bootpd does exist in /usr/sbin
bootptab does exist in /etc
and /exports is also there.
the entrys in /etc/services where already there:
---
bootps 67/tcp
bootps 67/udp
/etc/bootptab contains the following entrys:
----
global.prof:\
:sm=255.255.255.0:\
:ds=192.168.0.1:\ # (Do I _NEED_ a DNS or can I remove this?)
:gw=192.168.0.1:\ # Same thing as DNS, do I really need it for
bootpd to work?
:ht=ethernet:\
:bf=netbootkernel:
crackrack_2:hd=/crackrack/2:tc=global.prof::ha=545205e04493:ip=192.168.0.202
the hardware address was reported from the etherboot boot floppy on the
client.
What is wrong?
