I'm afraid not. It will not work, because there is nothing that initializes the 
card bus, thus the pcacket driver cannot access the Xircom card.

I did once have limited success with a HP Omnibook 300? and a 3com PCMCIA NIC. 
It seemed that the HP BIOS provided some sort of initialization for the card 
bus. But it worked very flakey with lots of packet errors. But i managed to boot 
a linux kernel which was able to set up the card correctly and run a diskless 
client.
But that was really very much luck..
