PRoblems with mounting the root

Hi all,

i have a small problem with mounting the root over nfs....

my dc gets an IP adress an an kernel... after starting the kernel in the
mounting process I get the error message

neighbour table overflow

and then portmap on server xxx.xx.xxx.xxx not responding....

the portmapper on the server is running and the ip address is allowed to
access portmapper....

does anybody know a solution??
