3c590 problem (?) + Loader Error 20

Hi,

I am currently trying to remotely boot a pc (using a floppy image produced
from netboot 0.9e).
The server is a Suse linux 6.1 (kernel 2.2.7) with a 3c509B.
The client has a 3c590 (i downloaded the correct packet driver alright)

I used the debug option (-d 4) in boopd, and got the following output:
xxxxx bootpd[329]: version 2.4.3
xxxxx bootpd[329]: bootptab mtime: Wed Jun 2 20:24:00
xxxxx bootpd[329]: reading "/etc/bootptab" Jun 2
xxxxx bootpd[329]: read 3 entries (2 hosts) from "/etc/bootptab"
xxxxx bootpd[329]: recvd pkt from IP addr 0.0.0.0 Jun 2 20:43:26
xxxxx bootpd[329]: bootptab mtime: Wed Jun 2 20:24:00 1999
xxxxx bootpd[329]: request from Ethernet address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
xxxxx bootpd[329]: found yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy (name)
xxxxx bootpd[329]: bootfile="/tftpboot/boot.img" Jun 2
xxxxx bootpd[329]: vendor magic field is 99.130.83.99
xxxxx bootpd[329]: sending reply (with RFC1048 options)
xxxxx bootpd[329]: setarp yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy - xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

And then nothing, the client doesn't do anything, tftp doesn't start, and
the boot sequence stops there...

My /etc/bootptab must be correct (i've read the man a hundred times...)
The image is in /tftpboot and has the proper permissions (actualy ugo+wrx
for testing)

++WHAT IS WRONG ????++

By the way, arp gives the following output: (in case it helps you)
Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Iface
yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy (incomplete) eth0

i also added manualy the correct settings (arp -s), but nothing new
happened :-(

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

By the way, i tried two other Network Cards
+a NE2000 compatible (ISA),
+and a RTL8029 compatible (PCI)
They BOTH passed the setarp stage, and tried to begin tftp (!), BUT
netboot gave an "Loader Error 20". I know it has sth to do with mtools
(it is in the docs) but WHAT??, and evenmore HOW can resolve it?

I don't have any other cards to test netboot on, and i really NEED help on
the 3COM situation, since we have 15 PCs with windows NT running already,
and we want to provide linux via NFS-ROOT, on request.....

Thanks in advance,
Theodoropoulos Theodoros.
