  Oh yeah, swap. You can also do NBD(Network Block Device) for swap. It does
require some patches, but they are available for both 2.2 and older 2.3
kernels. The patches might not apply cleanly, but with a little coersion it
can be done. That is how our diskless stations have 128M of swap. 
  Check the kernel docs for infomation about NBD and where to get the
userland utilities.
