Maybe it's not a RTL8139 chip but really a Via-Rhine? I was reading in a
newsgroup about how similar numbered boards from the same manufacturer
can have very different chips. Apparently some DFE-530s use Via-Rhine
while others use the RTL8139. It's no use changing the PCI signature if
the chip is not the right type for the driver.
