Here's a link to a press release from National Semiconductor describing
their new 10/100/1000 ethernet controller chip.
http://www.national.com/news/item/0,1735,467,00.html
They want US$95 for the chip. This suggests that the price of gigabit
ethernet should be falling in the next year.
I can't wait to use Etherboot on a 1000BASE-T card :-) I wonder which
manufacturer will have the first 100-200$US gigabit card out? Let's hope
it has a boot rom socket :-)
Just some thoughts on a cold Boston saturday.
Hello, World! :-)
Regards,
Marty
