Which BIOS/Motherboard are you using? In some cases I have had to do
BIOS upgrades which have helped. I remember in particular problems with
USB interrupt conflicts.
You might also check to see if you can manually define PCI slot
interrupts in the BIOS. The Etherboot driver seems to work with my
AWARD Modular BIOS in PNP mode. I have removable hard disk packs with
various Linux and Windows, and I use the same BIOS settings for all.
Check your motherboard manufacturer's website for update information.
There were a bunch of them near the end of last year for y2k issues, but
I also benefited from other fixes I hadn't applied.
