The gist of it is if you host the root NFS on a non-Linux system, make
sure the device major/minor numbers are those of Linux, not the host OS.
I.e. don't run the nfsrootinit script on the host OS but perhaps unpack
a cpio archive from a Linux system on the host OS.  Otherwise the boot
process will break as soon as it tries to open /dev/console or something
like that.
